JOLTtNAL’S purpose is to inform the students of the major events for each month sports, clubs, dances, and other e.xtra-curricular activities. 38 The 4-H Club Sponsor: Mr. Osborne Sponsor: Mrs. Bower The purpose of the Library Club is to provide pleasure for the members as they learn correct library uses and procedures. Its accomplishments includes providing needed library materials and service projects to aid less fortunate individuals or groups. Marion Junior High Chorus Director: Mrs. Sullivan The M.J.H.S. Chorus is composed of fifth-seven 8th grade students. This class provides choral music for Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving. Christmas and Taster Assemblies. From Band Week, a concen¬ trated practice session, there are concerts for our Parents’ Night Program. Christmas and Spring Concerts at Marion Junior High and the Sugar Grove School, and in the spring, a Spring Evening Concert is held for the public at Marion Senior High to close out the year’s activities. The Band’s marching ability is called upon as it participates in community oriented parades like the Chilhowie Apple Festival, the Marion and the Sugar Grove Christmas Parades and Marion’s Spring Fix-up and Clean-up Parade. In addition tt) playing for athletic events at the Junior High School, it joined the Senior High Band for a Bicentennial Half-Time Show at the Senior High football game in November. The Junior High Band, which hosted the District 7 Junior High All-Re¬ gional Band Auditions in November, played and received ratings at District 7 Band Festival in the spring. The escorts were Kim Russell and Kathi Anderson. While .Mark Keithley, Jeff Little, Brent Richardson and Tim Greer were the run¬ ners-up, the Queen Scott Ferrell projected personality, poise and the “beauty” necessa¬ ry to win. .BEAUTY?
