Through the leadership of President Myron Frans and Vice President Danny Steinel, one can surely say that Student Council proved to be a Council FOR the Students. Before the first day of school had begun StuCo was busy planning for the coming school year. StuCo proved to be hardworking from the first day of school by helping the faculty enroll the entire student body. Throughout the year StuCo presented lyceums that were entertaining and beneficial to the students. The StuCo got the Student Body into the Christmas Spirit by decorating the school at Christmas time and sponsoring a collection of food for two needy families. The food was brought by the students and the StuCo members separated, put into boxes and delivered it, while singing carols to the families. Again the StuCo showed their colors by pro- moting school-wide Warrior Spirit. But most students will agree that the most worthwhile project the StuCo carried out was the making of a Student Lounge FOR the STUDENTS. First of all, StuCo sponsored the Harlem Thrillers in order to have money for a room such as the lounge. But more than the money that went into the lounge, were the many hours of hard work spent in cleaning the room and planning the recreation for the lounge. All students were very appreciative toward the Council for such a project. As the end of school approached and student elections came up, the StuCo submitted new procedures for these elections so they could be run much more smoothly. The StuCo also updated their consitution by proposing new amendments to it and having the student body vote on them. As you can see, StuCo was quite active during the school year. Yet all StuCo members will agree that none of this could be possible without the guidance of our respected sponsor--Mr. Weinmann. 24
