M-CLUB OFFICERS PRESIDENT-Gene Schimpf VICE-PRESIDENT-George Jackson SECRETARY-Darold Longhofer TREASURER-Rich Soyez Stuco Representative-Francis Breech The M-Club had one of its busiest years, under the leadership of Gene Schimpf. There were also more mem- bers in the organization this year. The M-Club along with the Pep Club sponsored both the Homecoming and Queen of Courts festivities. In April the boys had a slave sale, to earn money. This proved to be successful as well as fun. The highlight of the year was the Father-Son Picnic. The Marion FFA Chapter was led this year by the officers: President-Richard Robertson, Vice-President-Jerry Groening, Secretary-Bob Raleigh, Treasurer-Francis Breech, Reporter-Chuck Bredimeier, Sen- tinel-Ron Kreutzinger, and Parliamentarian Don Kraus. Mr. Thole is the advisor. The advisor and officers attended the National Convention in the month of Feb- ruary. Here they had a chance to see the national officers in action. The chapter attended many livestock judging contests throughout the year, in- cluding district and state contests. They also attended the State Meets Contest and placed fourth. In the first part of February, they went to district FFA Speech Contest. They received gold ratings, and two silver ratings. The Marion chapter had a parliamen- tary procedure team which won at district contest. State contest was held in April. This year there were two boys awarded to State Farmer; Richard Robertson and Jerry Groening. 30
