Jean Morse Diana Goertz .Janet Stiller Judy Richards Anita Schlehuber . .Helen Olsen Under the outstanding leadership of Rosalie Dohner, the Future Homemakers of America has been compli- mented by the school and the community for its many various activities. Among them for this year of 1961 are: the second Sweetheart Banquet, a Mother-Daughter Tea, a prize - winning float, a successful ice cream social, an inter- pretation of the Lord's Prayer at District III FHA Meet- ing, a Senior-Eighth Grader Tea, a day for washing car windows downtown, an active and amusing basketball game, starring the girls and their fathers, plus many other activ- ities and interesting programs. Yes, this has been a splen- did year for FHA at MHS, and we're thankful to each person who helped make it so great! PRIZE FLOAT SWEETHEART BANQUET SENIOR TEA FHA 25

The Student Council is composed of the most capable repre- sentatives from each class and club. Decisive matters, pertain- ing to the government of the student body are brought before the Council. This year we attended the Student Council Conference at Haven. Other outstanding projects were selling sweat shirts, sending a representative to a Student Council camp in Oklahoma, installing a coke machine to be used by the students, and award- ing honor pins to the honor students. The Student Council was headed by the following officers: Julie Wooldridge, President; Thad Meierhoff, Vice-President; Eileen Pavey, Secretary; Ron Oelschlager, Treasurer; Mr. Keely, our interested sponsor. SWEETHEART BALL F F A The Future Farmers of America is an organization to aid the boys who take part in Vocational Agriculture. It helps to de- velop leadership and agriculture ability among its members. This year the activities of the FFA ranged from a float in the Old Settlers Pa- rade to their second annual Sweetheart Ball and the first Parent-Son Honor Banquet. This year, also, they had the honor of having Laddie Helmer represent their chapter as the State Farmer. 26
