The battle for that great purpose never ceases. A road may be pre- pared and left to be of use five years hence, but a boy or girl so neg- lected may become a liability to that state or community. Since we have spent two hundred seventy-five million dollars per day to get our boys ready to die, surely we can spend a like amount per year to get them ready to live. The most secure investment in all the W world is in boys and girlsg for you are always sure to get a man or a woman, and you may get a GREAT man or a GREAT woman. If a motto says Smile , and you carry a frown, Do it now , and you linger and wait, Q If a motto says Help::, ard you tramplevmen down, If a motto says Love , and you hate, X You won't get away with the mottos you stall, For truth will come forth with a bounce Q Don't go by a motto that hangs cn a wall, But one you can live, that counts.
