THE SWAMP FOXES on the DI M0 This season the Nlarion Swamp Foxes went on the diamond under Coach Lyon with high hopes, winning three of the first five games and the District Championship. Since they lost only three lettermen last year, the Foxes should be seen in the win column consistently. Billy Bullard will again head the pitching staff with Joseph Ricks doing the catching. Van VVood, Carlton Shelley, Harry Jordan, and Bobby Norton make up the infield while the outheld should be well taken care of by Johnny Baxley, Markey Bethea, and Larry Sawyer. Prospects for next year are encouraging since only four starters are seniors and will graduate. The Foxes won the Lower State title and played Kershaw for the State. Billy Bullard won wide acclaim for his pitching against Bamberg and Lamar in Lower State play and Harry Jordan became a hero for his ninth inning game winning triple in the final game with Bamberg as the team made this the most successful season in years. bl
