Mr. Middleton has built up the band into one of the best marching and concert units among the high schools of the two Carolinas and this year, the band, under his direction, was invited to the Shrine Bowl in Char- lotte and the Azalea Festival in Charleston in addition to appearing in a number of parades throughout this area and performing eye-catch- ing and crowd-thrilling routines at the ball games. At the Azalea Fes- tival the band was chosen the best marching band and Quwarded the first prize. In addition to his work with the band, Mr. Middleton has taken an active part in planning special activ- ities and programs, including Home- coming, the Open House activities, and the Iunior-Senior. It is our honor, Mr. Middleton, to recognize your services in this way. On behalf of the Senior Class and the Student Body, please accept our thanks for all your good work .
