B GIRLS' BASKETBALL The future Lassitoxes were impressive against competition in this age bracket this year and qave much hope to fans for the prospects ot the varsity in future years. This junior team is part oi the reason Why the Marion girls have taken their tive trophies for state championships in the last decade. One of the B team members, Bose Wood, competed in the District Tournament Free Throw contest at Aynor tor varsity players. B BUYS' BASKETBALL The B boys' team, under the direction of Coach Iohn Evans, serves as a training ground for the future varsity Foxes as Well as an opportunity tor the boys in the lower grades to engage in organized athletics and to compete with teams of comparable age from other schools. The group played a number ot games and, all in all, enjoyed a rather successful season, making the outlook for future years of varsity ball brighter. 48

BASEBALL The Foxes went on the diamond this spring under Coach Lyon with high hopes and suffered only two early season losses, both oi which were especially important since they were to Mullins and decisive in the Class B, District l2 elimination. Pros- pects tor next year were encourag- ing since only three oi this year's regular starters are members of the Senior Class and will graduate. These graduating seniors are Alva Dickens, William Nettles and Asa Evans. Coach lack Lyon briefs his batteries for a forthcoming game.
