STUDENT LIBRARIANS This organization was formed this year and is composed of six students, one for each six periods ot the day. They check library permits, put newspapers on racks, check books in and out, check magazines, help keep scrapbook up to date, and perform many more tasks. These students have been invaluable to Miss Moore clurina the year. 42

The offensive starting line-up during the 1952 football season usually consisted of Bobby Norton, R. E.: Rupert Sm'th R. T.: Edw d Powers, B. G.: Ioe Williams, C.: Harr Iordan, L. G.: H. D. Faulk, L. T.: Marke Bethea, L. E 1 , ar y y in the line: Cecil Snipes, Q. B.: Alva Dickens, H. B.: Charlie Hamer, H. B.: William Nettles, F. B.: Keith Hood, H B The five backs alternated for the four positions and Gaddy Turner, a regular starter at guard, was hurt early in the season. FCCTBALL The Marion Foxes began training for their l952 football season by go- ing to camp for two Weeks just before school opened and spending the time getting into condition up in the mountains. The boys began the sea- son strongly and took four out of the first five games before injuries began to take their toll. Under the guidance of Coaches Lyon and Evans the Foxes of 1952 looked stronger and smoother and made their supporters proud of them. Quarterback Cecil Snipes was selected as an alternate for the annual Shrine Bowl game in Char- lotte and Fullback William Nettles and Tackle Rupert Smith were selected for the Tobacco Bowl in Florence. The Civitan Club honored three of the players with trophies which were presented at the homecoming game -Cecil Snipes for Most Valuable Player, Gaddy Turner for Best Defen- sive Player, and William Nettles for Best Offensive Player.
