In order to be a member, a student must have at least an average of 80 on each subject. The Marion Beta Club has 30 members from the Iunior and Senior w-. ., we , Classes. During this school term they have sponsored various programs tor the student body and they spon- sored the Hearts Ball in February. This year the Beta Club supported Marion's Warren Derrick as candi- date for state president and th e members attended the convention in Columbia on March 6-7. le STUDENT CCUNCIL The Marion High School Student Council is a student advisory group composed of the president and vice- president of the student body, the class presidents, and the homeroom representatives. The aims of the council are to pro- vide leadership and citizenship train- ing, to encourage student-faculty cooperation, and to promote good student attitudes and school spirit. est! Lf. Stanley as faculty advisor during the l952-1953 school term the Marion High School Student Council became a member of the South Carolina Association of Student Councils and the National Association of Student Councils. The high school constitu- tion was also revised and adopted by the student body.
