The statt is composed of the new lournalism Class under the supervision ot Mrs. Betty lane Strickland. Under this plan the paper is issued every two weeks. ln each issue there are miscellaneous news items, a sports page, feature, book review, and editorial. The Fox Tales is a member ot the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association and exchanges papers with other schools. Front Row: Pat Foxworth, Alice Evans, Patty Moore. They have spent many study periods, afternoons, and nights trying to type copy and identify- ing pictures. Many changes were made from the original lay-out but when the final proof Was read they began to hope their efforts had not been in vain. They hope that you, their fel- low classmates and the students, like the '53 Swamp Fox.

le STUDENT CCUNCIL The Marion High School Student Council is a student advisory group composed of the president and vice- president of the student body, the class presidents, and the homeroom representatives. The aims of the council are to pro- vide leadership and citizenship train- ing, to encourage student-faculty cooperation, and to promote good student attitudes and school spirit. est! Lf. I i Under the leadership of Mrs. Marie C. Stanley as faculty advisor during the l952-1953 school term the Marion High School Student Council became a member of the South Carolina Association of Student Councils and the National Association of Student Councils. The high school constitu- tion was also revised and adopted by the student body.
