A '--N. V w N MARION HIGH This is the first year in the history of Marion High School that there has been a marching band. The fifty-piece band, under the direc- tion of Mr. Hal Middleton, played and executed maneuvers at the home and out-of-town foot- ball games. They also marched in many local and out-of-town parades. The highlight of the year Was their performance at the Shrine Bowl Game Where they and five other bands fur- nished the half-time period maneuvers. The Marion band participated in the District Music Festival in Florence and made a rating of one-plus. Thus, they were the only band from this district to take part in the State Music Festival which was held at Winthrop. The annual spring concert was presented by the concert band before a capacity crowd. Nu: l 'i 4 I 3 I 38
