The advise of Polonius to his son is sound Class of 1952: , You entered kindergarten on September 5, 1939, together with 39,954 other Iowa youngsters. A recent study shows that almost half of these have already dropped out of school, or will drop out before grad- uation. We trust you will never regret hav- ing graduated from Marion High School, and that you will continue your education wheth- er in college or out. C. B. Vernon Superintendent even today. Dishonesty, even though tech- nically legal in some cases, lies behind many of the ills of the world. We hear it said that our country, as well as the world, is in need of a leader who is able to unite the ef- forts of all people in the search for higher standards of living, national unity and po- litical security, to free all people of want. But too few of us realize that a return to real honesty would remedy many of these faults. It is the hope of your school that the sev- eral years that you spent here will have shown you the value of absolute honesty, sincerity and a faith in Him who holds our destiny ..... And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. J. F. Swartzendruber Principal 6 J. F. Swartzendruber Marion, Iowa B. A. University of Iowa Physics
