An in- experienced sguad, with only tour lettermen, reported at the beginning ot the season, and while some progress was made, no great improvement was noticeable until the Monticello game late in the season. Marion won three, tied one and lost tive games during the I934 season. However, only tour letterrnen are lost by graduation, and with thirteen lettermen being pushed by capable reserves tor every position on the team, prospects are exceptionally bright tor l935. Outstanding games in I934 include the 6 to O defeat by Vinton, when Vinton was expected to win by a top heavy score: and the battles with Monticello and Anamosa, both ot which were close and hard tought. Anamosa tinally won a Turlcey Day game trom Marion atter being on the short end ot the score tor seven successive years.
