I Superinfeno'en7L's Message As I thought about this message, I was reminded that someone long ago said: Blessed are they who have nothing to say and who cannot be persuaded to say it. The substance of this statement is that when something is expressed for further considera- tion, it should be with identifiable accuracy. In keeping with this thought, I am compelled to say that I am proud to be associated with the Marion Senior High School student body. I continue to be pleased with the productivity of the Annual Staff. The quality of the publication appears to be improv- ing each year. I conclude that the truth of these statements is self-evident. I express the best wishes for continued success for the high school annual staff. James H. Carter Superintendent xx .,.. .,. 424' Principal 's Message I have been very fortunate Cblessed if you preterj in the past two years: I have been principal ofa very fine high school. Diplomas, Caps and gowns, and senior class rings - These all seem like such traditional things, Actually this is the school's way of saying goodbye - They send their good wishes, along with luck in all we try, They've done their job and they hope it was done well - After we're on our own, only time will tell, lt seems strange the importance school has played in our lives - Hopefully we can all go out and succeed in all that we've been taught to strive, A new life, new people, a beginning of our own -- School - thanks for the helping hand and the care that you've shown. You've planned for us twelve years in advance - And now you're sending us out to give us our chance, Our years in school will benefit us on decisions we'll have to make - And because of your help, it will be easier to determine the roads our lives will take, We, as seniors, now see the importance of a high school education - It played a big part in our lives, and somehow served as a training station, It taught us to work together to be a benefit to our society - We appreciate our faculty and the constant struggle to work with us, a reality. We, as seniors, would once again just like to say thanks - We know our high school education will help us to go to the highest ranks, We hope that we had something to do with making Marion High great- And that you will always remember the Class of '78!
