lf we were to plan a beach party, a project, or a fund-raiser, who is the first person we would want to help us? Who is the person whose support almost always guarantees success? This is the person that the staff of the 1987-88 yearbook would like to dedicate this year's NOIRAM to - Mrs. Helen Fleegel. Her interest in our school and our community is very apparent in the number of activities she's involved in. Her enthusiasm and willingness to give of herself and her time always insures that a project will be done well. Mrs. Fleegel was born and raised in Marion on a farm on White Road. She is the oldest of two children, her brother is Dr. Thomas Stevens. She graduated from Marion High School in 1956 as senior class valedictorian. ln 1960 she graduated from Nazareth College where she re- ceived both her B.S. and her M.S. ,ge 11? There seems to be no end to the activities in school and in our community in which Mrs. Fleegel is involved. She is the church organist at St. Gregory's where she also teaches religious education. She is the advisor of the National Honor Society which operates the school store. She was involved in student council, has directed numerous senior plays, and has been a senior trip chaperon several years. She was also advisor to the Yorker's Club. She is very involved in the annual penny fund and has helped with the Marching Band pizza sales. Mrs. Fleegel has played a key role in the success of many school organizations. Mrs. Fleegel now resides on Witherden Road with her husband Barrie and two daughters, Tracy and MaryBeth. The senior class of 1988 would like to thank you, Mrs. Fleegel, for all that you have done for the students of Marion High School, and we would like to wish you and your family much happiness in the future.
