E IGATIQN i Marion Teacher's Association as Teacher of the Year in 1983. Mr. DeRue lives on Dormedy Hill Road with his wife Barbara and his two children, Audrey and Grant. He became Town Assessor in Ianuary of 1971. For over twenty years he has been an active member of Rotary Club: he is a former president and is currently secretary. Playing league softball has been a pleasure of his for many years. Mr. DeRue, the class of 1987 would like to thank you sincerely for all that you have done for our class and all that you continue to do for the students of Marion Central School. Love, Iulie Bliek Co-Editor-in-Chief Mr. Paul DeRue It is with great pride and appreciation that we dedicate our 1987 NOIRAM to Mr. Paul DeRue, our teacher and friend. Mr. DeRue was born and raised in Sodus. He is the oldest of eleven children. He was active in high school playing basketball for the Sodus Cherrytowners. He also played baseball and was a member of NHS. After Mr. DeRue graduated in 1960 from Sodus, he entered Cortland University, where he received a B.S. in mathematics. Later he attended classes in Brockport where he received an M.S. in 1970. Mr. DeRue began teaching at Marion in 1964. The list of Mr. DeRue's activities seems to be endless: coaching baseball, basketball, soccer, and track: advisor of the many senior classes and their magazine sales, sole coordinator of the senior fair booth, coordinator of faculty coffee fund: chief supervisor at soccer games, official of junior high basketball games: announcer and scorekeeper at basketball gamesya member of several faculty committees: and senior trip chaperone. It's apparent that Mr. DeRue's vocabulary doesn't include the word No. Mr. DeRue became subject area coordinator for the junior-senior high school math department in 1978. He was chosen by the
