Dedication With respect and sincerity, we dedicate the 1969 Noiram to our district principal, Mr. Chester VV. Curtis. Mr. Curtis has been supervising principal of Marion since luly 1, 1954. His new title came with the addition of our new high school building this year. Mr. Curtis' sound educational background and his varied teaching experiences helped him develop a sound philosophy of educational leadership. He proudly claims Cornell University as his Alma Mater, earning his Bachelorfs degree there in 1939, ln 1947 he received his Masters degree from St. Lawrence University. He took additional courses at Cornell, Syracuse, and the University of Rochester, and in September, 1949, earned his principal's certificate and his superintendents certificate in September, 1955, Mr. Curtis taught in New York State public schools for ten years and was supervising principal of Hammond Central School for five years before coming to Marion. He has witnessed tremendous growth in the Marion Central School. After suffering a space problem for years, he has realized the dream of many: our beautiful new school. He has served the community well in Rotary and the church. We are sure that the desire to honor Mr. Curtis extends far outside the walls of our school. 7 4
