Foreword Progress and change are the keynotes of the 1969 Noiram and are reflected in its pages. Pfere you will see our new school, new administrator and staff members, and new students. Changes are stimulating in more ways than one. They can lift our spirits, they can present unseen problems. The best laid plans of mice and men can often go astray , and we found it necessary to alter class schedules and our schedules. A ten-minute lunch break was reinstituted after a few weeks' trial without one. Teachers sometimes had problems securing enough desks for their larger classes, and they seemed at a loss sometimes in finding places to store their supplies. However, by Christmas.we had a settled feeling and realized the little problems could not dampen our pride and delight in our new surroundings. Having the largest gymnasium in Wayne County, we were able to hold a Christmas tournament here. The spacious and beautiful auditorium has made every assembly a special occasion. Wall-to-wall carpeting provided a real educational challenge: how to avoid electrocution or how to induce it. Cheerful colors and new furnishings have afforded us daily delight. Another innovation was the introduction of the unquestioned pass for honor students - a real inducement to work for grades, Did we forget the elementary school? Hardly! High school students welcomed any activity held there as they sincerely missed it. Many athletic practices were held there and many junior high athletic events. Teachers missed teachers and friends missed friends. lt is good to know the Board of Education now plans necessary repairs and a general redecoration of the elementary building. Marion was proud of its growth! ,Q z 115124, 1. 'es' rs 'kafsriaii .
