Summer School Last summer our School District conducted a si mer session for the second successive year. A total 323 students were enrolled. Many favorable comme from both students and faculty were made at the of the summer session and most students said t welcomed the opportunity to take additional courses to make up work. Below: Mr. Nolen and Mr. Reid's Drivers Education Classe Above: The organs of a frog are very similar to the organs of a human being. Dissection of a frog is one of many projects of the biology class in summer school. Below: Mr. Hunter's American History Class. Mr. Manier and Mr. Gotway taught these Biology classes W' During summer school of 1965 the Biology students we given an opportunity to study the development of the chit embryo. Chicken eggs were incubated and broken opt each day for a period of twenty-one days. During th course of study the students were given a chance to wah the development of the embryo gradually over this peric of time. Several of the eggs were allowed to hatch and wei observed by the students. This section on embryolov proved to be very interesting to the students since they hd never before seen the development of an embryo. At the close of summer school, Lelynna Soldner, a men ber of the biology class, took the baby chickens home wit her and pictured at left shows the development of tk chickens after six months.

AT LAST SEPTEMBER ROLLED AROUND AND IT WAS TIME FOR US, THE CLASS OF 1966, TO BEGIN OUR FINAL YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL. BEAMING WITH CURIOSITY THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, THE STUDENTS GOT OFF THE BUSSES AND HURRIED TO SEE THE INTERIOR OF THE NEW BUILDING. WITHOUT HESITATION, THE STUDENTS MADE USE OF THE LOUNGE AREAS 'x AND THEN BEGAN ROAMING DOWN THE HALLS ' SEARCHING FOR THEIR LOCKERS. ,,.: Q,- , :IJ ..,: ., a .Ik 3 V. I I EVEN THOUGH THE BUILDING WAS NOT FINISHED WHEN SCHOOL BEGAN WE ANTICIPATED A GOOD YEAR. WITHIN A SHORT TIME WE FOUND OUR PLACES IN CLEAN, MODERN EQUIPPED CLASSROOMS. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SEVERAL WINGS NOT COMPLETED, DURING AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK THE PUBLIC WAS INVITED TO SHARE IN SEEING THE NEW SCHOOL IN OPERATION. THE NEXT PICTURES DEPICT THE INTEREST SHOWN BY THE PUBLIC ATTENDING OPEN HOUSE. .K I I ki , X f-sw mv 4 NM I WORK IS STILL BEING DONE ON THE BAND AND CHOIR ROOMS AND IN A FEW PARTS OF THE BUILDING AS THIS HMEMORY KIT' GOES TO PRESS.
