May this hook and the year it recorcls he for each of you-Hu ihemoruhle YCZH' , 7a ' Wiawuu 84662 The 1960 Memory Kit wishes to pay respect to one whose devotion and dedica tion to our youth has been a universal influence for good. Miss Maurine Baker died at her home in Marioni Illinois, on Monday, April 20, 1959 iss Baker, after graduation from Marion I-Iwh School attended the Universit of an 1 Y Illinois, where she became a Brenze Tablet honor student and a member of Phi Beta appa. She recen ed her masters degree from the University of Chicago. She soon returned to Marion High School to teach history and literature. Early in her teaching career Miss Baker became the sponsor of the Hi-Tri League of the school. Great has been the number of Y' l h h through her gentle guiding influence. In the year 1949-50 she taught in Nurenburg, Germany, for the American Field Service, and in 1952-55 she taught under a Fulbright Fellowship at Haarlem in the Netherlands.
