During the parade that afternoon three impartial judges selected the F.F.A. float as the winning float. That evening the Wild- cats bowed to the Johnston City Indians by a score of 32-26. To climax the day, Natalie Barnaby was crowned queen by Football Captain Sam Brown. The Tommy Lawson orches- tra provided appropriate music for danc- ing. The theme so beautifully carried out was Orchids in the Moonlight . The very dance- able music was furnished by the Jimmy Hudson Orchestra. The night of April 22, 1955, was a gay one for the Freshmen and Sophomores as it was their an- nual Hop. Helping to carry out the theme Pink Champagne the Jimmy Hudson Orchestra furnished the music for dancing. SENIOR PLAY The Senior Class of 1955-56 presented its play Midnight, a mysterious comedy, on November 17 and 18, 1955. The oction of the play occurred in the deserted Greenwood mansion on New Year's Eve. Several attempts were made to solve the mysterious sounds and happenings in the house. The result was the discovery of a secret room where government explosives were being tested by two former associates of the late David Greenwood. Mr. James V. Fee was the director. This year the Madrigal Singers performed for several civic clubs, school assemblies, and music programs. They are directed by Mrs. George Ashley. It is a student governing body composed of 24 members. Each year six new members are chosen from the Freshman Class to serve on the Student Council during their four years of high school. This year the elected members were Tony Armstrong, Frank DeMonsi, Tom Jeter, Nina Kay Pulley, Iris Ann Hudgens, and Judy Hudgens. The Sophomore Class members are Julie Kaeser, Sara Wedler, Linda Cooksey, Wendell Winters, John Shotton, and Bob Dan- iel. The Junior Class members are Larry Feurer, Charles Anderson, Tom Wimberly, Shirley Shoot, Ann Morgan, and Shirley Darter.
