I v SENIOR OFFICERS President, Paul Miller Secretary-Treasurer, Virginia Durham Vice-President, Clayal Hill TheSer1iur Elass Pausing at the threshold of the dream house which we, the class of '49 leave for others to occupy, we find many fine things accomplished by our class. We be- gan the fall of '45 as shy, green, and hesitant freshmen looking to our sophisticated seniors for advice and coun- sel. Finally, however, we were considered human be- ings and were allowed to tread the halls along with our schoolmates. At our first class meeting we chose Paul Miller, president, Graydon Hoover, vice-presidenty and Robert Monroe, secretary and treasurer. Student Council representatives were Betty Io Green. Marilyn Iohnson, Paul Miller, Ann Harper, Roberta Odum, and Graydon Hoover. Along came the Homecoming festivities and we fresh- men came through and elected Roberta Odum queen attendant. Rotary Day rolled around and Betty Io Green received the gold key, and Roberta Odum received the silver key. Pins went to Mary Ann Atkisson, Patty Baker, Margaret DuPont, Phyllis Dwyer, Wayne Noe Hill, Gray- don Hoover, Barbara Marsh, Ramona Priest, lim Stau- dacher, and Catherine Whitcomb. Our Sophomore year was the betwixt and between year for us but nevertheless, we were ready to take any responsibility put on our shoulders, Our first job was the election of class officers. We chose Ramona Priest, presidentg Dolores Eason, vice-president: Betty Io Green, secretary, and H. L. Springhart, treasurer. It was our duty to sponsor the Hop, so these officers had a tough job on their shoulders. At Homecoming Betty Io Green and Margaret DuPont were selected as queen attendants, In the way of Rotary Awards, Betty lo Green again received the gold key. Iirn Staudacher received the sil- ver key, and pins went to Delmar Hancock, Ramona Priest, Roberta Odum, Delores Strobel, Patty Baker, Ann Harper, Marilyn Iohnson, and Peggy Pulley. fContinued on Page 30D SENIOR STUDENT COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES Seated, left to right, Roberta Odurn Betty Io Green Marilyn lohnson Graydon Hoover lim Staudacher
