Some Souvemrs that Pomt to a Moral The plctures on th1s page serve two purposes Flrst when compared wlth some of the other plctures tn thls volume they show our development from a school with practlcally no equlpment into a school with plenty of high grade equip ment After postponlng the beglnnlng of school ln our new bulldlng for two weeks the faculty grew tlred of waltmg for equlpment to be Installed borrowed some folding chairs for the Assembly Room confiscated some typewriter and soap boxes for the recxtatlon rooms and proceeded to the develop ment of young Amerlca by causlng two ideas to sprout where but one sprouted before But the thing most lmportant shown by these Souve mrs lS the manlfestatlon of the Splflt that characterizes the old M T H S We are proud of our bulldlng and equipment but are more than proud of the sp1r1t and courage that could make a school ln splte of lack of equlpment just as a log wlth Mark Hopkins on one end of lt and young Garfield on the other end of lt made a school we have the evldence that a hve teacher at one end of a plank and a hve class of boys and glrls at the other end of xt made lf not a whole school at least the begmnmg of a hlstory department that IS domg its full duty ln maklng a better brand of Amerlcan citizens ln our commumty than could posslbly be developed wlthout 1 I ,si 0, 1 'u . . n . a . . 41 . , ' , , , , . ,, . . . . . . y . . . . , . 3 Y V 3 !
