I PATRIOTISN In this period of our greatest national danger, I have chosen Patriotism as my theme. In each of the many thou- sands of local districts of our country, we must finally awaken to the danger now so realistic and so near. Let our object-be our country, our whole country and no- thing but our country. We must adhere strictly to a policy of all out for wer in order to rreserve our homes, our schools and our churches. He who loves not his country can love nothing. I Milton once said, HOur country is wherever we are well off.n No people in this grand world are ss well off as we Americans. Let's not awaken to that fact, too lute. To the not u cheerful one but there is greet hope for the future. Obviously, the doubt which arises has its origin in a lack of faith in the future, but we must look be- yond the horizon toward a better future, that goal for which the millions in the armies of the democracies are fighting today. The nood for trained mon and women if vital to the future, is even more urgent today. In so many departments of government, and in so many fields of industry our potential power is retarded by a lack of trained norsonnol. If ovcry effort is to bo directed to- ward winning the wnr, then let the schools, the students and the teachers do their part.
