This leading service club has always endeavored to find a service projectwhich will benefit the school and community. Its leading project is the annual toy drive whichwas conducted very successfully this year. Not only do the boys repair the toys for orphans but also buy clothes for them. The Key Club is constantly striving to serve others, pro- mote higher ideals in scholarship, and sportsmanship, and aid its school and community in any possible way. The officers are as follows: President, Bobby Hunter, Vice- President, Ronald Bailey, S ecretary, Cato I-loll e r, and Treasurer, Dan Davis. Other members are: Sam Rowe, Dicky johnson, Donald Yelton, Ronald Yelton, Billy Dean Davis, Tennant Teeter, Mike Young, Woodie Greene, jim Pettit, Daniel I-Iudgins, Tom Cline, Dean Rymer, Mike Norwood, Howard Revis, Rick Lonon, john Gilkey, jim Poore, Charles Reece, jerry Lonon, Dean Padgett, Bill Hemphill, Craig Greene, Bill Lonon, Sterlyn Washburn, Sandy Carter, Ted Davis, Steve Rockett, Frank Goldsmith, and Harold Medford.

The members must have shown themselves to be of outstanding character, leadership, and achievement. The wheel is often connected with Beta ideals. The hub represents character, and the spokes, scholarship, helpfulness, school spirit, patriotism, and leadership. All of these qualities are bound together by the rim of service. Among projects sponsored by the club are annual dance, the sale of Mudders, and a talent show. Members of the Beta Club are always promoting the ideals of honesty, service, and leadership, and also encouraging students to continue their education beyond high school. New mem- bers are voted in each year by the old m e ni b e rs.. This year many changes have been made, and a lot of work has gone into putting the a nnu al together. The entire club has worked especially hard s el lin g sub- scriptions, etc. The editors have spent a lot of time after school and on Saturdays, work- ing on the annual. We are all proud of our 1961-62 HYLANDER.
