FOREWORD This is your 1958 Hylander . The words and pictures before you portray as best they can the events and happenings of this s chool year. But words and pictures alone cannot do justice to the human emotions experienced 'during these events. They cannot convey the joy and pride of a football team that defeated every o p p o n e n t f o r eleven straight games. Nor can they convey the nause ating disappointment experienced when we were defeated in our twelfth and final game. They can't fully express the beauty of homecoming and the festivities at the class parties. These things must be left to your own memory. Like most yearbooks, the Hylander has a theme. Due to the resemblance of our school to an industrial factory w e will in the next few pages refer to it as the plant . Mr. Elledge is the head of the plant, the teachers are the foremen and the graduating seniors are the finished products. The plant has four shifts Qfreshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniorsl, and so goes it. Here and there in this yearbook we have tried to be humorous,we hope this is to your liking. All in all we, have wor ked hard and worried long. Here then, with our good wishes, is your 1958 Hylander.
