The purpose of the FHA is to promote an interest among high school g i rls in homemaking The only requirement for ioining is to have had one course in home economics Each spring several representatives attend the state convention in Ra I e i g h, accompanied by the advisor Mrs Flora Homewood. Excellent cameras, enlargers, and other equipment are provided by the school. The sponsor is Mrs. Dot Lonon. Among its fall proiects have been a puppet theater and the study of French art and songs. Long hours of practice, writing, revising, and criticizing go before the actual triangular debates. lt pays off in trips to Boone. To promote th e interests of interscholastic debate, ora- tory, and public speaking by encouraging aspirit of fel- lowship and by conferring upon d ese rv i n g members a badge ofdistinction is the purpose ofthe National Foren- sic League. Members of the club attend a congress once a year, and the club rates high among the clu bs in its district. The sponsor is Miss Laura Keeter.
