ime or SC1'ViCC sz? n QQ 'S Student Council The Student Council, governing body of the school, handles the ticket sales at all athletic events as an an- nual project. lt also sponsors clean-up campaigns and other proiects for the improvement of the school. The officers this year are Ann Burnett, president, Bi l l Morgan, vice-president, Raydee Wyatt, SSCFSTCIFYI and Eugene Robbins, treasurer. Mrs. John Gilkey is the Faculty advisor. In March they served as host to th e Western District of the North Carolina Student Council Congress. Howthe timeflies when you are working on a debate speech or writing an article for thenewspaper! Developing a prized snapshot seems much more important than work ing equa- tions. Marion High School offers varied activities in which you may take -part. Each is sponsored bya fac- ulty member and meets at a sche- duled time and place during act- ivity period. The clubs are grouped under three main divisions. They are the ser- vice clubs, which render school and community service, the training clubs, which train stu- dents for some special role in fu- ture, andthe honor clubs, which recognize outstanding students in all parts of school life. Until you have been active in at least one of the activities offer- ed, you have not taken full ad- vantage of Marion High School.

iq? T 4 Q 4 V I S Bus Drivers Floyd Hensley, Everette Cable, Jay Whisnant, Joe Allman, Charles Benge No iob at Marion High School has more responsibility connected with it than that of driving a bus. There are six drivers and six substitutes. Each boy is an able and qualified driver. The safety record of these bus drivers is admirable, and they are also noted for their promptness and depend- ability. Mr. Elleage acts as sponsor for this organization. l1C Office Workers Seated: Mary Ruth Gordon, Mildred Shook. Standing: Margaret Bradley, Pat Holland, Jolene Moore, Peggy Tucker, Merttie Cannon, Carolyn McBee, Becky Epley, Elizabeth Rabon. The office workers are senior girls who use their study periods to work inthe office. Their work consists of typing, running errands, making announcements, and other work. Mrs. Eunice Pyatt is more or less the advisor to the girls and helps them in their work. F 1' 1
