The council representatives, which are elected by the students, render a fine service in assisting the teachers in the study halls. To take care of the students who misbehave in the study halls, a council court has been organized. This court works on the same basis as government courts and is the main factor in dis- ciplining the study halls. Among the other projects which the organization carries on are publishment of the handbook of Marion High School, which is distributed without cost to the studentsg operation of a candy store in the council room during lunch periodg regulation of traffic in the halls during change of classesg and presentation of at least one chapel program a year. Now in its third year of operation under a new program, the cafeteria has filled many an empty stomach since the adoption of the Federal Aid Program in 1945. The goal of this program is to help furnish well balanced and nourish- ing meals to the students of the High and Elementary Schools. Believe me, for twenty cents you really get a mouthful. Men can live without friends, and men can live without books, But where is the man that can live without cooks? if 179 I5
