SENICDR CLASS PROPHECY about others in our class. Edith Biddix, at home for a much needed rest is a dietitian at Duke Hos- pital. Margie Biggerstaif and Millie Poteat, as good friends as ever, are operating a Beauty Salon, and Russell Horton, part owner of the Carolina Trailways, frequently stops in Marion. joe Gaddy is the proud owner of a dairy farm located just outside of Marion. In the midst of our conversation the radio blasted forth with Wayne Willis and his Corn- fed Rhythm Boys, now taking the place of the Briarhoppers at Charlotte's 50,000 watt station. Charles tells me that Royce McNeill is a tech- nician there. Speaking of radio, we immediately thought of the world-famous comedians, james Ray Robinson and Bruce McNeal. Also starring in his own radio show is vocalist, Claude Jarrett. News Commentator, Billy Flack, has also made a name for himself in radio. After I had given out all the information I had picked up about our classmates, Kathryn told us some interesting facts. She said that concert pianists, Daphne Goodman ant. Sue Martin are touring Europe, The New York Philharmonic or- chestra, which boasts of oboe soloist Mildred Leonard, is touring all the large cities in this country. With the Metropolitan Opera Company is coloratura soprano, Thelma Autrey, contralto, Lucille Hemphill, and baritone, Leonard Wilson. Making a success as models are Margaret West- moreland, Virginia Robinson, and Margaret Honey- cutt. Kathryn. said that she had just seen the Broad- way production of Carmen, starring actor Glenn Rector, and ballet dancer Alta Godfrey, and that it was destined to become a big hit. By reading the newspapers we had found out that Roan Norman is manager of the New York Giants, and jim Bryson and Ned Noblitt are playing professional football for the Washington Red Skins. Rose Mary Hensley, Peggy Ca rrigan, Zelma Burleson, and jewel Harris are Physical Instructors at Cornell, Duke, Carolina, and Southern Cali- fornia Universities, respectively. Elaine Penninger is librarian at St. Mary's, and Frances Smith, Dot Neighbors, Nell Stiles, and Betty Robb are all school teachers. Marjorie, Kathryn, and I were proud of the fact that several of our former classmates have remained in the services of our country. Robert Hawkins and Floyd Broome are serv- ing as Chaplains in our Army, B. Davis and Aaron Stroud are in the submarine Service of our Navy, and Walter Reel is the typical Marine. jean- ette Smith is an officer in the XXp1Cs now, and wouldn't leave for any other position. Because this information proved so interesting, Marjorie, Kathryn, and I forgot that we had work of our own to do. A glance at our watches told us that it was already f te, but before i.',' e departed, we knew that someday, as soon as possible, we were going to have a class reunion .... Until that day I hopefully remain Your Senior Class Prophet, Lois NANCE.
