In integrity Love your country-love your nation. Aware of contemporary trends toward protest, our student body defended the honor of MSHS in academics, sports, and extra-curricular activities. Pupils exhibited sincerity as they strived to obtain higher goals. They proved their loyalty and uprightness by showing respect for their school, community, and nation. In spite of all outside pressures, feelings of patriotism and concern for others acted as bonding forces between freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I pledge allegiance to the flag. Friendship is important even when you ' re competitors. 22

In opportuni tv . . . Contests offered a chance to compete; clubs offered places for community service; above all, classes offered opportunity for learning. Upon reaching high school, students began to realize the time for decisions had arrived. They grasped at prospects for self-improvement, not only knowledge but job openings, scholarships, and awards. Regardless of the goals already obtained, hands were continually reaching for the next rung on the ladder of success. Foreign Language students use various techniques to understand new aspects of communication. Members of the Gamma Delta view Thanksgiving as a time of sharing with others. 24 Chemistry provides a channel for research in the chemical sciences.
