On September 25th, Marion was the host of their long-time rivals, VVytheville, who had the upper hand and won with the seore of 31-0. On the night of October lst. hlarion visited Riehlands. 'l'he llnrrieane played a wonderful game and held Riehlands baek to a 7-0 defeat. On Oetober Sth, Virginia lligh of Bristol. played host to 'l'he llnrrieane, who put up a mar- velous fight but lost with the seore of 33-6. 'l'he morning of October l6th found the M. ll. ' The Searlet llnrrieane blew into Saltville on November 6th for the Salt Shakers' Hrst llome- eoming game in quite a while, and upset them by a seore of 13-6. 'l'he highlight of the evening was the 103-yard run by lolnmy Crewey. eaptain of the Nlarion team. 'l'he last game was played with Poeahontas on November 13th, and the llnrrieane lost with the seore of 12-6. 'I'he Searlet llnrrieane team did not win many games, but they did play the best teams in Southwest Virginia and the excellent sportsmanship whieh they showed to the other teams meant more to them than the aetual scores.
