into Theme of Prom A colorful rainbow, depicting the 1967 Junior-Se- nior Prom theme of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, highlighted the beautiful decorations of the annual dance. Changing from Friday to Saturday night, May 27th was the date set. Co-chairmen Janet McKown and Terry Terhune spent many hours, with the help of eight hard-working committees, to create a lovely eve- ning. As the colors, blue and mint green provided the Juniors with an array of ideal decorations, the Bristols from Indianapolis furnished the music, playing the theme song of Somewhere Over the Rainbowf' for the dancing couples. Three Queen candidates were elected in April from the Junior class. Crowned Queen of the 1966 Prom was Patricia Young, with Debbie Crist and Nancy Rankin as her princesses. Baby blue, azure blue, and silver were the colors selected, as a paddle wheel, running pond, and several stars beautified the MHS cafeteria. Styrafoam half moons with angel hair completed the decorations for the tables. Providing the evening's music, the Co- mets of Fort Wayne played the theme song of Moon River. While developing the southern elegance into reality, co-chairmen Jackye Cole and George Garrett and six busy committees worked long hours.
