Many of Marion High's 2100 students have part- time jobs that give them the opportunity to fulfill re- quirements for adult responsibility. Teen centers are often visited by MHS'ers for relaxa- tion and a chance to talk with friends away from the busy school scene. The scenic views of Matter Park were a great change from the hub-bub of Marion's traffic and business area. This year over 700 parents attended Open House at MHS on November 7. A colorful display of student work was presented in each room. The Cactus staff worked hard to obtain an all-time high in selling the yearbook. Rain, Victor Mark 66 Homecoming -. it E Y For the sixth year in successio-n MHS selected a Homecoming Queen. In 1966 jackye Cole reigned with Senior Princesses Anne Whitcraft and Sally Beouy. Sophomore Teresa Schrock, junior Susan Wilkinson, and freshman Tawana Floriana completed the 1966 Homecoming court. The Art Club float, Wipe Out , took first place in parade awards for the third time in the six year history of the event. All floats were good examples of the creativity and dedication which kept members of eleven clubs Working until the Wee hours to finish their floats in time for the annual parade. Despite rain-drenched, freezing conditions, MHS Giant rooters helped the team defeat eighth ranked Anderson to even our Homecoming record at 5-3.
