MHS Exempll led Universal ualities 0 Marion High School's corridors served as avenues where students, teachers, and visitors saw those universal qualities which mark each American high school. Senior cords distinguished the upperclassmen of MHS. These multi-colored garments, splashed with colorful representations of the clubs or activities the wearer belonged to, added spirit and life to Marion High School. Class rings ranging from '67 to '70 also played an important role as they took on decoration to hide various attempts to make male rings fit female fingers. Salads, pies, and ice cream were just a portion of the food selection in the modern cafeteria, but tender- loins and French fries were the favorites of many. Classes ate at five minute intervals to enable all the 2100 students to have a 27 minute lunch period. The library, opened from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, displayed a wide variety of books and materials for students. A familiar sight around school was 5'0', Carolyn McCuan and 6'7 John Sutter meeting between classes to walk together. ,psf 1- . .am .- V- -i 0

96 7 Was The Year P '67 was the year when The Man Who Came To Dinner was presented. Previous to this was the traditional Homecoming with the undefeated Marion Giants. The Park, drive-ins, the play, the musical, the Coronation Ball, and the Prom played an important role in the life of every student. A- part from the relaxive activities, the students studied periodically in the 11,000 volume library and the well-equipped classrooms. 7
