Counseling new sophomores and teaching sophomore English are Mr. NIiller's in- structing actixities at Marion High. Something light and something hright will add spice to anyone's literary diet. Variety is what literature students at Marion High have found. Literature is taught in both sophomore and junior academic and general courses. It is offered to seniors httt is not required. Students taking literature read a great selec- tion of stories. Poems, short stories, and novels are just a few of their activities. MISS MARILYN ANN!-L j0Nl-QS teaches linglish and advises the Cactus and Survey stalls. She was graduated from Ball State Teachers College where she received her B.S. degree and from Indiana University where she received her M.A. degree in journalism. She enjoys music and writing. -wi 'l'l-1S'llXtL! - Tape recording offers opportunities for speech practice to Ronnie Brooks, Rosilyn Young, and Lynn Rader, speech students at Marion High. Oratory is a skill that all would like to acquire. The speech and dramatics classes of the English department provide a possihle means lor prac- ticing and developing this skill. Demonstration speeches, introductory speeches, and pantotnimes are just a few ol' their activities. '51 ln addition to teaching l-lnglish, MR. HAROLD l-1. S'l'l'l,l.l-QR teaches speech and dramatics. He is a newcomer to Marion High and attended DePauw Vniversity where he obtained his bachelor of arts degree. Mr. Stuller enjoys howling, dramatics, tennis, and show horses. 23
