2 747 Climaxing weeks of planning, rehearsing, and ticket selling, the 1959 Easter Parade was pre- sented. The theme, Dudes and Dames, was carried out by the western sets, dances, and skits. The setting was a western saloon with pieces ol' scenery in each corner of the floor. Behind the throne was a huge royal flush with the queen in the center. After recognition ol' the royal court and the coronation of the queen, Marilyn Young, the lloor show got under way. Verdean Brane, master of ceremonies, introduced the court. A girls' drill team, The Rangerettes, was the first act on the program. Deep in the Heart of Texas was their marching music. MISS MADONNA McMII.I.AN SENIOR PRINCESS MISS KAREN KILCZORE SENIOR PRINCESS Next on the program was a square dance group which further carried out the theme. A western style kick line, under the direction of Mary Cook, performed to the familiar Buttons and Bows. The Black Bandit, featuring Vicki Kempher, was the title of another dance routine. A comedy skit was the next act on the program. It was entitled The Gunslingerf' Charles Clubb directed this year's drill team which called themselves the Texas Rangers. Their march music was the Yellow Rose of Texas. Another dance group, The Dance of the Cherokees, was directed by Pam Friedman.
