I. shivers Debate Club Makes Comeback .Xlter being inactive lor several years, the Nlarion High School Debating Club was revived this year. There seemed to be a Considerable amount ol interest in debating, for it had a good siled mem- bership for a new Club. The topic for debating in lncliana high schools this year was Resolved: That the United States should engage in free trade with friendly nations. Several of the members prepared very good argu- ments lor or against this topic. The oflicers were: Kenny Buxton, President: -Iohn Charles, Vice-President: Judy XVehrly, Secre- tary: and Ralph Stephenson, Treasurer. Last lall several members ol the club journeyed to Purclue to observe a series ol high school debates. There was a series ol scheduled debates around the state, some ol' which the club entered. lt also had some private debates with other schools. .X constitutional ccmnnittee, headed by .Ieannine Usher, dralted a new constitution for the club this year. This was necessary since the club had been inactive lor several years.
