SOPHOMORE CLASS LIHOUCH IHI Y have been ln Marlon High School but one year the mem bers of the sophomore class have taken qulte definite and actlve parts ln all school actlvltles athletic and soclal Wtndlng up the electrons of the semor and Jumor classes on November 9 the sophomores met ln the school audttorlum and elected Wtlllam Roes sler class presxdent for the ensumg year The class elected Wtlllam Hooper to be v1ce prestdent Betty Tuttle secretary and Robert Parker treasurer The committee ln charge of the electlon was headed by Robert Horn er chairman and composed of Anal deen Jones Helen Nelson Ralph Vleng Phtlltp Boxell Kathryn Gab rlel Howard Thomas Martha Jane Grlffith and Mary Ellen Thornburg After the electlon the sophomores complacently found their various places m Marlon High School P sxtxons m the concert band the or chestra the journalistic staffs and many other honorary places were awarded to members of thus the youngest class tn the school Flrst plans for the opemng party W H ea le e d nt WI Hooper W C announced by Wllllam Roessler wxthm a month after the class organlzatxon Wlllldm Hooper IH charge of txcket sales Ralph Erlewxne ln charge of entertalnment and Mary Ellen Thorn burg ln charge of refreshments headed the commlttees in charge of the party December l3 found Memorlal Coliseum gally decorated for the pro posed party Muslc by Bob Butler s Band was furnished for dancers Cards and games were planned for those who were not dancmg A feature of the evemng was a prnze dravtmg rn which attendance prues were gnven to those present Later ln the year the class jomed the other two classes IH preparing for the Cactus Frollc Wllllam Roessler class presxdent capably headed a large tlcket sales group comprxsed of members of all three classes Joseph Davts served as executlve committee member for the sophomores A final party prlor to the annual sophomore pxcmc was outlined by Roes sler Class executrves headed committees WhlCh planned the location type of entertalnment and refreshments for thxs final sophomore party The annual sophomore ptcmc was held durmg the final week of school wtth Roessler as a last offictal gesture headlng all plans for xt A 3 Q t se ' ' ' .
