aft o o I, I v 'Aw LI' f , , wp ' 5 4 Q lt N o 'i , , , Ap. X WO HUNDRED years ago a man was born who was destined to be- come the greatest leader that the United States ever produced. This man was George Washington, the Father of Our Country. His spirit, a spirit of justice, of truth, and of right, now prevails throughout the nation, in the hearts of all the people. Those who believe in the country believe in this spirit and are led by its righteousness. This spirit has characterized and moulded the lives of the students of Marion High School to such an extent that We feel it is proper to pay some tribute to George Washington. It is to this spirit of George Wash- ington, as embodied in the student life of Marion High School, we dedicate this volume of The Cactus.
