SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In August 1953 the largest freshman class numbertng 155 tn the hxstory of M C H S enrolled for therr tenure We were well represented tn sports and rn the populartty contest Wtlburn Cash Robert Beene Freddte Bennett Ben and Jrm Braden represented us on the football team On the varsrty basketball team were Wtlburn Cash Herman Owen Ben and Jrm Braden were the managers That year tn the popularrty contest Freddre Bennett was the greenest freshman Iackre Beene was the blggest pest and Roste Webb was the most talented Mrs Beene sponsored the grrls on an educational tour of Nashvrlle We advanced from freshmen to sophomores and that year we were sponsored by Coach Wade and Mrs Sally Smrth Our class offtcers were Prestdent Wtlburn Cash and Nancy Holloway Secretary Ben Braden Treasurer Jlm Braden Reporter Joy McNabb Sergeant at arms Iackte Beene In athlettcs that year we were extremely proud of the 55 T V C Champs Those partrcrpattng on the champtonshtp team were Wrlburn Cash Robert Beene Houston MCKISSICR Ben and Jrm Braden Wade Young Herman Owen Paul Parker Freddy Bennett Charles Henderson Bobby Lewls Davld Sampson and Wmfred Haggard On the gtrls basketball team there were Muff Godsey Joy McNabb Gladys Rogers Faye Bolton Nancy Holloway Eva Cash and Susre Dawson On the boys team we were represented by Wrlburn Cash In the populartty contest there were several sophomores Jackte Beene was the wrtttest person and btggest pest Rosre Webb was the sweetest sophomore and the most talented and Ben Braden Sandra Lowrte was elected cheerleader and Eva Cash was the 55 Football Queen Of the prevtously enrolled 115 we dwlndled to 96 Juntors Our class sponsors were Mrs Adams and Mrs Ltvtngston Our class offrcers were Prestdent Joy McNabb V1ce Presrdent Houston MCKISSICR Secretary Treasurer Nancy Holloway Reporter Jackre Beene Those playtng football were Houston McK1ss1ck hm Braden Ben Braden Freddte Bennett Charles Henderson Davtd Sampson B1lly McClanahan Paul Parker Jody Thomas and Btlly Gouger On the Warrtorette squad were Joy McNabb Eva Cash Nancy Holloway Gladys Rogers Faye Bolton Lrnda Shadrtck Joyce Jones Susre Dawson Nan Prercy and Freda Temple Those on the boys team were Wrlburn Cash Houston McK1ss1ck Robert Beene Paul Rogers Ben Braden Charles Krrk Roy Layne Charles Henderson and Ray Mrllard Our boxers were Davrd Sampson Jody Thomas and Captaln Bobby Lewts Jean Nelson Sandy Lowrte and Joy McNabb were elected cheerleaders In the popularlty contest Ben and Llnda were sttll the cutest couple Nan Ptercy was the Jolllest Jumor Jackte Beene was the btggest pest and Rosle Webb was the most talented At the conclusron of our Junror year we all enjoyed a four day vacatton at Fontana Vtllage sponsored by Mrs Adams ACIIVIIICS of the senlors of 1958 wtll be found on the pages of thls annual We flnd that the class as a whole rs well represented rn every school acttvtty You w1ll frnd the members of thts class ptctured on the pages of the sports clubs and other actrvtttes 17 , , , ' , . . . . . . . . . l .
