Hatchet because in the everyday life of the Marion College Family, much depends on how- each member of this family enters into the “Spirit ” or mood of the moment. Faculty-student relationships are firmly based on foundations of mutual respect, friendliness, two-fold learning. Invaluable experience, insight to many besetting problems and inspiration are the faculty’s gifts to the student body in exchange for the dedication, application, and cooperation of the family’s younger members. Student-student relationships are warm, intimate, satisfying. Each, in giving of herself to the utmost, soon discovers she is maturing emotionally. And what memorious times she has in doing this—times sweetened by joyous shouts of laughter and flavored by the salt of tears but memorious never-the-less. On the following pages we have tried to capture some of the spirit and feelings that are a part of each day, each deed, word, and thought.
