Olson prepare a devils lood cake with the use of the new kitchen equipment, Home Economics Marinette High School has one of the finest Home Economics, courses taught in this country. A wide variety of homemakings are taught, among them being sewing, cooking, baby-care, and the nutritive value of food. After the students have learned many impor- tant sewing and cooking habits, they turn out fashionable clothes of the latest styles, and foods that are tempting to all. The new modern kitchens that were installed this year, not only add to the beautiful appear- ance of the room, but also make the cooking conditions much more convenient. This new equip- ment will be a reminder to our future house- wives of what they learned in this course. M. Larson, J. Goldsmith and V. Kuliclr prepare the frosting for the devils food cake

AWARDS AND HONORS The greatest honor a student can achieve in his Senior year is to receive one of the awards, which are made available to them through local, state, and national organizations. While some of these awards lead to scholarships, and others remain honorary, all of them are of equal importance to the whole class. The Baush and Lomb award was given to Kenneth Exworthy, for his outstanding achievement in Science. This award may eventually lead to a university scholarship. The D.A.R. award, based on leadership, dependability, and patriotism was given to Mary Dahnke. Mary has a chance to win local, state, and national contests for D.A.R. candidate. Other awards given at M.H.S. are the Music Award which is given to a student who has performed outstanding work in the field of music. A years subscription to the Readers Digest is given to the number one pupil of the class. The Legion Medals and Elks Award are athletic awards which are given to the outstanding athlete of the year. The Elks also award the pupil receiving the highest score on a test of the Constitution. Mr. Godson presents M. Dahnlre with her award as the local D.A.R. winner. IZ Mr. Exworthy, Science Department Head, presents to his son, K. Exworthy, the Bausch and Lomb medal which is given to the outstanding student in Science. D. Waugus receives the Elks award as the outstanding foot- ball player of the year.
