First prize float for the M 81 M parade-the Art Club. Getting into Pep Club this year was quite an ordeal. as you can see from these pic- tures taken at the initiation. The members-to-be were put through various 'ttortures' before they became full-fledged members. A really big event of the year was the M and M parade in which many of these floats appeared to make it a really colorful arrair. LIFE magazine certainly gave us all a thrill by making 'iportraitsv of the students. the game, pre-game festivities, and all the other activities going on during this week of anticipation before the big battle!

Varsit Football . . . Two Rivers In a display of mid-season talent, during the first encounter of the season on their home field, the Marinette Marines outclassed the Two River's Purple Raid- ers 42-6. Quarterbacked by big Jim Strem, the Marines jumped to an early lead in the first few minutes of play and held it throughout the entire contest. Accounting for the touchdowns were Allen Felch, who scored the first one on a 2 yard plunge, and Paul Christopherson who maile two, one on a pass from Strem and the other on a short scamper. The others were made by Don Miller, Bob Pazdera. and Harold Alswager. Strem accounted for 4 of the extra pointsg 3 by placement and the other on a pass to Christopherson. Others who showed good grid work were Captain John Arendt, who played center and end on defense, and Bud Wolfe and Dick Langlois on punt returns. Rhinelander The Mighty Marines took their second victory of the season by over-powering Hats off to Mr. Howard Stiehm for producing an undefeated football team? Coach Stiehm is also kept very busy in the Spring with track. His year-round activities include teaching physical edu- cation and science, intramural athletics. and being M. Club advisor. His B.
