ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL UPPER SCHGOL Hershal Don Sharp attended Texas A8:M and Baylor Universities before entering the Air Force in 1955. During the next twenty years. he worked as a camera repairman, ballistic missile analyst technician telecommunications system controller, and an instructor in the communications field. Mr. Sharp earned his BS at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1972. He joined the faculty at MMA in the fall of 1975, as an instructor in History and Government. if Major Claude H. Mike Lewis F W PRINCIPAL Claude H. Lewis has been associated with the Academy Since 1967. He has been an English and History instructor, football coach and aerospace instructor. He became Dean of the School in Iuly, 1975, Major Lewis' college education was interrupted when he became 3 Naval Aviation Cadet in 1942. When he received his wings, he entered the Marine Corps as a second Lieutenant. He went to the Pacific Theater, where he flew PBI-25 Mitchell medium bombers. After the war, he accepted a commission in the regular Marine Corps. He was in battle again in Korea, where he was promoted to Major. His final duty assignment was with the landing Force Development Center, Air Section. After retirement, he entered Pan American University, where he obtained his BA in 1964. ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL LOWER SCHCOL Dr. Peter A. Schwartz came to MMA from the Fort Worth Country Day School, where he was the founding Head Master, and more recently the Director of Development and Alumni Affairs. Schwartz earned his B.A. in English at Princeton in 1936. He then became secretary to the President of Princeton for one year. In 1940 he moved to the Chicago Latin School, where he taught English, Latin, and History, and coached both drama and athletic teams. He served in the Navy in WWII, leaving as a Lt. Cjgl in 1946. Since 1948, Mr. Schwartz has been Headmaster of The Allendale School, New Yorkg Pembroke Country Day School, Kansas City, Mo.g and The Fort Worth Country Day School, which he helped establish in 1963. In 1973 Dr. Schwartz joined the Board of Trustees of MMA, where he shared his extensive experience in private school operations with the rest ofthe board. He received his LLD from Texas Christian University in 1975. Dr. Schwartz was President, Country Day School Headmasters' Association, in 1975-76. In 1972 and 1973 he was President, Independent Schools Association of the Southwest. He is also a member of the Scholarship Selection Committee, Sid W. Richardson Foundation, and is on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Outward Bound School. He is active in the Rotary and the Episcopal Church. ,f it - Mrs Freda Bek Dr. Peter A.
