1 A We B COMPANY MCYSCT COHAN Master Gunnery Sergeant Arthur B. Cohan fRet.l. Cohan joined the Marine Corps in 1958. After Boot Camp at Parris Island and Infantry training at Camp Lejeune, he attended electronic schools at Great Lakes, Illinois and San Diego, California. He became a missile maintenance technician, and worked with the Terrier and Hawk systems. After assignment in California, Texas and North Carolina, Sergeant Cohan went to Vietnam in 1964 with a Hawk Battalion. In 1969 he entered the year-long Hawk Supervisor School at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He graduated first in his class, and was retained at the school as instructor. In addition to his teaching duties, where his achievements won him a Commendation Medal from the Army, he worked in curriculum development and multisensory teaching aids. He began work there as Technical Advisor to the Marine Liaison Officer in the Dragon Missile Program. C COMPANY MSCT MCLAUCHLIN MSCT Iohn C. McLaughlin USMC fRet.J..MCLHU8hl1n joined the USMC in 1954 and retired in April, 1976, aflfrr serving more than 22 years of active duty. Two weeks after his retirement Sgt. McLaughlin reported ahoard to run Charlie Company here at MMA. His last assignment on active duty was with the 3rd Light Aircraft Missile Battalion, Cherry Point, N.C. He has also served Wllh the 3rd Marine Division, the Base Brigade at Camp Lejeune, N.C., the 1st Marine Division at Camp 'v Pendleton, California, and as a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, S.C. and San Diego. They check doors and locks, monitor traffic, study approaching storms for their potential damage, and 1f0Uf6 late visitors in the proper directions. To anyone arriving after hours, these NCO's ARE the Academy. Iust to fill IH time, lhey also supervise the Officers and NCO's of the Watch. 58
