AINTENANCE The maintenance crew is what keeps the Campus looking squared away, and their care ofthe buses, cars, grounds and equipment requires constant vigilence. In this sub-tropical climate, grass grows at an astonishing rate, the rust is an ever-present threat. ..,v-A MESS HALL The food service crew prepares more than three hundred meals, three times each day. In addition to the filling the seemingly limitless appetites of the cadets, Marvin's helpers feed the hundreds of guests A who come to MMA each year. They also support many of the organizations that use the Mess Hall for their meetings, and have that job that seems to be the i i nemesis of all - washing the thousands of dishes - after everyone has eaten. The cadets, naturally, complain about the rare delicacies at the Mess I-lallg however. they still have an overweight table. n - I 4 . PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE Hundreds of news releases and feature articles are created by the PAO and submitted to national magazines and newspapers during the school year. Last year alone, over 19,000 column inches of published MMA copy were confirmed by this office. All school photos are handled by this department. Staff photographers recorc MMA history on film, shoot news and magazine stories, and take any photo assignment that might be assigned. PAO staff writes, illustrates and produces the Academy magazine, The MMA journal, published three times a year. With a student staff, the office also directs the production of our yearbook, Pass In Review. They arrange tours, speeches, and interviewsg show films and prepare advertising and promotion materials just to keep things humming and interesting. 14 . . S l Thomas D. Segel.
