Mr. james P. Akin Mr. Akin, B.S., Texas A 81 M University, M.S., Texas A 8a I University, has been with the Academy since its inception in 1965. Mr. Akin was the head coach of all major varsity sports at the Academy until he retired from coaching last year. He has taught in secondary schools for nine years and presently teaches 7th and 8th grade science and biology. Mr. Hockaday, BS., MS., University of Texas, has attended Texas A Sc M, Texas A K I University, Immaculate Heart College and St. Mary's University. He has received honor and merit scholarships from the National Science Foundation and the Physical Science Study Committee. www Aerospace Science The Aerospace Science program teaches cadets the principles of flight, both in theory and in practical application. Initiated in 1967, it is a popular course with the first and second classmen. The ground school is taught by Major Lewis, while Major Sundin is the flight instructor.
