This was the first year the Marine Military Academy fielded a junior varsity football team. Coach Lewis, with the able assistance of Doc Anderson, fashioned a fighting team from promising underclassmen, who, otherwise, might not have had a chance to play football, The season's highlight was undoubtedly the game in which the Marines shut out the Santa Rosa Junior Varsity by a score of 8-0. This was the Marine Mili- tary Academy's first game on its own home field and the game ball has been preserved to mark the occasion. The players learned much and gained valuable experi- ence. Next year's varsity squad will be made up of many of this year's team and the Academy's football future will be strengthened by junior varsity football. I07
